RoadPrep helps learner drivers practise for their national theory test. This policy explains what the app does with your information. In short: the app has no accounts, and your study progress stays on your device. Three other companies are involved — Google, which supplies the ads; Sentry, which receives a report when the app breaks; and PostHog, which receives anonymous usage analytics. None of the three is sent your answers or your progress.
Information the app keeps
Your answers, mistakes, bookmarks, mock test history, and your choices of country, licence code, language, theme and haptics are stored on your device by the operating system's own storage. They are never sent anywhere, and the developer cannot see them. Deleting the app removes them, and Settings has a Reset progress option that clears them at any time.
The app carries one demo question bank inside it. Every other country's bank is downloaded when you choose that country, which is also how a newly published bank reaches an app already installed. Downloading a bank fetches a file; it does not report which questions you looked at or how you answered them. Once a bank is on your device you can study it without an internet connection, and Settings has a Downloaded banks option that shows what they take up and removes them.
Information Google collects for advertising
RoadPrep shows ads supplied by Google AdMob. To select and measure those ads, Google may collect device identifiers, approximate location derived from your IP address, and information about how you interacted with an ad. This happens inside Google's advertising software, not in the parts of the app described above, and it is subject to Google's privacy policy. Crash reports
When the app breaks, it sends a report so the fault can be found and fixed. The report describes the failure, not you: where in the app's own code it happened, your device model, its operating system version, the version of the app, and the few steps the app took just before — which can include the screens you moved through and the country you were studying. It carries no account, because there are none, and none of your answers, your results or your bookmarks.
These reports are handled on the developer's behalf by Sentry, on servers in the European Union, and are deleted after 90 days. Your IP address reaches Sentry as part of sending the report and is not stored with it.
Analytics
RoadPrep sends anonymous usage analytics so the developer can see which parts of the app are used, such as when the app is opened and which screens are visited. Events are tied to a random identifier generated on your device, not to your name, an account or any other information that identifies you — there is no account to tie it to. No screen recordings are made, and nothing about your answers, your results or your bookmarks is included.
These analytics are handled on the developer's behalf by PostHog, on servers in the European Union.
Your choices
If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, the app asks for your consent before any ad is requested, using Google's consent form. You can change or withdraw that consent at any time through Privacy options in the app's Settings. Withdrawing consent does not restrict any part of the app: every question, test and review mode remains fully available.
On iOS you are separately asked whether the app may track you across other companies' apps and websites. Declining is respected by the system, and you can change it later under Settings, Privacy and Security, Tracking.
Children
RoadPrep is intended for people old enough to begin learning to drive and is not directed at children. Ad content is restricted to a rating of Parental Guidance or lower.
Changes
If this policy changes, the revised version will be posted at this address with a new date above.
